Antique, micro mosaic floral design oval shaped brooch/pin, handmade in Italy. 

Brooch measures approx 35mm x 28mm.

A specific form of mosaic, micro mosaics use unusually small mosaic pieces (tesserae) of glass to make small decorative images. Wearing micromosaic jewellery became popular during the 17th-19th Century, with rich families travelling around Europe, with Italian craftsman turning their famous glass making skills to making miniature micromosaic pictures for the tourists.
