Turquoise cluster jewelry was developed by Zuni artists in the 1920s and 30s. They started by arranging hand-cut gemstones into gorgeous designs that resembled snowflakes and flowers, among many other things. The designs were typically made with turquoise, coral, and jet, but today's artists use all kinds of stones, from Spiny Oyster to Mother of Pearl.
